People already do this but he would get woobified so hard, everything awful he has every done would be forgotten. His whole character is meant that he should not be pitied. He deserves what was wrought upon him because he continued to perpetuate violence and suffering (selfish reasons)

Onyx has almost died like ... more than a handful of times pre-ARR, mostly from his youth-early twenties, within the story I would say the closest he had ever been to death is in SHB (no spoilers just in case) and some time in Endwalker? I'm a bit over half way so I haven't decided yet!

Perfect question for Onyx, but blood and gore has been an all too familiar sight for him, even as a child. He is utterly desensitized and it doesn’t bother him at all

Onyx was a Neutral evil pre-Arr, but now I would say he has developed much more to be True Neutral for most expansions, and now in EW I think he has his moments of being aligning with Neutral Good. He’s learning..
