How to turn any mode into a bebop scale:

If the mode has a natural 7, add a chromatic note between the 5 and 6.

CMaj: C D E F G A B C
CMaj Bebop: C D E F G G# A B C

If the mode has a b7, add a chromatic note between the b7 and octave.

D Dorian: D E F G A B C D
D Dorian bebop: D E F G A B C C# D

Tune of the day…George Russell - Concerto for Billy the Kid. Billy the kid here is Bill Evans who after some really tight fiery intricate composition, including his own two hand octave lines, takes his blazing right hand and quick draws over some stop time. #jazzsky youtu.be/JrNf4KL_9SI

Nice piece of relaxing percussion music. Fun Kasimira fact: I was in a percussion ensemble for a while until I went to uni. Miss it sometimes. Still own my 3-octave xylophone, might take it up again properly sometime.

I just used my grandfather’s bench chisel to open a paint can. Anything goes. I sang a Sting song one octave down. Anything goes

No but the almost childlike joy in Halsin's voice when he says "I like ducks." His voice goes almost an entire octave higher when he says this from sheer excitement. How can you write him off as just "another boring hippie" when literally his entire being lights up when he's talking about animals???

One modular voice from the 110, doubled an octave up with a pulse wave from the 2600(LFO modulating the PWM and VCO2 in LFO mode adding a slow wave to the cutoff)
S&H on the 2600 is modulating the cutoff on the 110

Listen to those crunchy delays on the DFX9 in the spaces between notes 😍

I’m still poking around in BASIC! How are you assigning notes to voices? First-come-first-served sort of thing?

Minnie Riperton, born this day in 1947, with her daughter Maya Rudolph. ❤ ❤ ❤
A five octave voice!
Born: November 8, 1947, Chicago, IL
Died: July 12, 1979 (age 31 years), Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA
So, so young when we lost her. 😿

Im reading some places that guitar is an octave up from piano, which yeah still makes it a C instrument but frequencies of middle C and fifth fret G are an octave difference.

That’s the part that has me confused so would third fret A string be a frequency match?

#THETWEN2IE5 DAY 37

14.

CHAPPELL ROAN
'GOOD LUCK, BABE!'
USA 2024

I am in no way comparing Sabrina Carpenter to effing 'Dance Monkey'.

Yet, the world stopping at #2 for this song is the biggest "J'accuse" in the UK charts since 'Don't Start Now'.

This week's karaoke:
"Breathing Underwater", Metric (female vocals pitched an octave down can make a good warmup)
"Buy American", Joywave
"Sunshine Superman", Donovan (More Donovan fun facts incoming this week)
"Heavy Is The Head", Zac Brown Band (wish they did more like this, though Cornell died)
This week's karaoke, a Halloween setlist 🎃
"Don't Fear The Reaper", Blue Oyster Cult
"Season of the Witch", Donovan
"The Wolf", Dunbarrow (darnit go listen to this one)
"Somebody's Watching Me", Rockwell
"Devil Woman", Cliff Richard
"Total Eclipse of the Heart", Bonnie Tyler
This week's karaoke songs:
(My roommate isn't home, so I could sing all the screamy songs I wanted)
"Beautiful Blue Sky", Ought (utterly deranged that somebody made a karaoke version of this)
"Handlebars", Flobots (also an unhinged choice on my part, though nailed it tbh)

Guitar is usually notated such that you would play one octave below what is notated, but if you want the same actual pitch as middle C on a piano, then 1st fret on B string, 5th fret on G, 10th fret on D, 15th fret on A or 20th fret on low E.
