The importance of future-proof partnerships in food systems By: LVVN, Co-organisers of youth networks of both ministries The conversation will zoom into the challenges and lessons learnt on the role and importance of partnerships in biodiversity, climate and sustainable food systems. We seek to identify practical ways to strengthen current partnerships and explore how they can become more equitable, impactful, and responsive to the needs of those most affected by food insecurity, and how biodiversity is so important to take into account in food systems thinking. The session also seeks to foster meaningful intergenerational dialogue between the young audience and Marcel Beukeboom. We will try to get a ‘young’ audience at WFD, by sending people reminders about this event through targeted emails (age).

Debate with Dutch parliamentarians and experts on how improved food security can increase global stability. By: Food4All Coalition Access to food is more than a basic need - it is a matter of power, economics, stability, and justice. Food insecurity can intensify tensions and, in fragile contexts, food can even become a weapon of war, deepening inequalities and fuelling unrest. At the same time, investing in food security can strengthen resilience, foster economic development and support peacebuilding, contributing directly to stability and safety. This session offers insights from knowledge experts (WUR and HSSC) and practitioners (Oxfam Nigeria) [language:English], and a political debate with three Dutch (candidate) Parliamentarians (GL/PvdA, CDA, D66) [language: Dutch]. Key questions include: How can food and nutrition security help foster sustainable security and prevent conflict?
