if the Scarlet Forest won't gain a nectarivore giant bug monster in the expansion then I've completely given up hope on getting a giant bug monster again

Bird Book of the Dead no. 38 - Kaua'i 'akialoa

We've met a couple of the Hawaiian honeycreepers already (and there are many more to go) and here we have one that lived up to the name and was a nectarivore, specialising in lobelias and the nedemic 'ohi'a flowers.

Happy to share our results on vertical stratification of plant-nectarivore interactions during the symposium on "Studying rainforest canopies with camera traps" at #ATBC2025

Okay, I'm currently working on the next Bird Book of the Dead entry, but for the one after that, which of the following four should I do?

A) Choiseul Pigeon
B) Broad-billed Parrot
C) Huia
D) Bonin Grosbeak

Meaning of #melífago It means that he feeds on honey, that he eats honey. Melero. It can be considered as a synonym for nectivore or nectarivore (which feeds on nectar). It can also be a typing error due to melifuge... melífago

Orange-breasted sunbird by Dr Dionne Miles - an endemic nectarivore, one of my very favorite birds in the hand. I studied their vulnerability and adaptation to climate and wildfire in the South African fynbos, a global biodiversity hotspot and the smallest (fire-driven) botanical kingdom. 🔥

Aww! The pygmy possum! (Cercartetus concinnus). This species weighs just 0.5 oz, the size of an AA battery. This tiny marsupial is a nectarivore, its diet consists of plant nectar. It inhabits forest treetops in parts of Australia, using its long prehensile tail like a fifth limb to move about.

Behold the western pygmy possum! This dainty marsupial typically weighs ~0.5 oz (14 g)—that's about as much as a AA battery! It inhabits treetops in forests throughout parts of Australia. As a nectarivore, it mainly feeds on plant nectar.

Is this the largest hummingbird ever? Although it may look like a popular fluttering nectarivore, what is pictured is actually a beautifully detailed and colorful aurora, complete with rays reminiscent of feathers.

I once encountered a gardener in Betty’s Bay, South Africa who had inadvertently killed 52 Cape sugarbirds (a beautiful endemic nectarivore) by using xylitol in a nectar bird feeder. Be careful. So many deadly poisons, many seeming quite innocent.
