#Modularity
That's for new features, but what about timeless HOWTOs, like the one on Functional Programming: docs.python.org/3/howto/fun...

A real gem! 😍

Apart from explaining the advantages of FP, namely:

- Formal provability.
- Modularity.
- Composability.
- Ease of debugging and testing.

If "the PC" moves to ARM or any other architecture I suspect the industry will do everything they can to abandon modularity. SOCs, RAM, and storage will all be soldered in mini PC like designs. Basically an ewaste hellscape. I'm hopeful that this future will be rejected.

modularity is p good here; the "rd" low-level render abstr will let you build on top of the vulkan/d3d12 to do what you need, as long as you're comfortable writing shaders for each. probably easier to build 1 level higher, either as custom SceneTree Nodes or custom main loop, w/ RenderingServer

Oh boy. The code my client's dev team wrote is....bad. No other way to put it. This is a mess. No wonder it takes them weeks to fix minor bugs.

Modularity? Comments? Clear coding standards?

Alas, no.

i sorta like modularity, and don't particularly like the sort of relativism i think he has in mind, but i think moving from one to the other is a non sequitur

it's a fun passage, but it's quite mystifying to me why fodor thought that the denial of modularity implied relativism (...and of what sort?), or that modularity implied the denial of relativism. i've only ever been able to make sense of it sociologically

✨ Practiced CommonJS modules in Node.js
✨ Imported & exported multiple files using require() + module.exports
✨ Organized messages and functions into reusable components
✨ Great exercise in modularity & clean code structure 💡

I don't know why I keep coming to these. I mean I got the season pass so it's a great deal but she literally picks me for audience participation every time. It's like it's on purpose or something..... weird............

I guess it's not so much an issue of the Paradox Mods system as much as City's Skylines' graphics system has absolutely fucked all modularity out of the game.

They tried shoot for the moon then burnt up in the atmosphere

@xgranade I dunno if I agree, CSS ate XSLT's lunch long before JS frameworks were a thing. The modularity that the "cascading" part gets you is a net good, even if you're trying to build a purely declarative web.

This kind of happened to 3e, too. Obviously, 3e was less smooth at launch, but it introduced a modularity that ultimately bogged the whole thing down.

Both editions were victims of being good, relatively simple RPGs while also needing constant publication to make money
