A2: This is what I was thinking abt today, @amystorn.bsky.social, we had a #literacies chat about multisited #literacies & after we kept talking about how that didn't quite get at the radical mobilities we were imagining...I think that might...might...be where our #transliteracies collab sparked!

How can we change migration and mobility policies for a changing climate?

With Henrietta McNeill-Stowers & Christina Newport, we identify 12 unique, but interlinked climate (im)mobility policy clusters based on existing policies and practices around mobilities in the Pacific.

In a sense it was a "natural weather event." In that American consumers of mobilities were seduced and became and are addicted to motor vehicles and the infrastructure for it. Totally natural for a corporatist neoliberal economy and society. Except all the subsidization that's essentially Socialism.

Hello. 🍄

I wonder if anyone knows of academics working on international or regional student mobility schemes (supporting short-duration mobility) outside of Europe? (For example, supporting intra-Asian mobilities).

Thank you. 🍂

We apply the method to search for organic semiconductors, maximising electron mobility. We compare to applying the EA to optimise molecular properties (reorganisation energy) that should improve charge mobility. Optimising directly on the materials property leads to 3x higher mobilities.

e.g. emergent city deals in the UK & Australia show how national governments are devolving powers to local authorities, while maintaining significant control over fiscal & policy decisions. This blend of national influence and local autonomy is critical to understanding modern policy mobilities.
‘City deals’ are coming to NZ – let’s make sure they’re not ‘city back-room deals’
City deals are being touted as the answer to NZ’s local infrastructure problems. Lessons from the UK and Australia suggest greater transparency and more coherent planning should be on the table too.
