Since when were people guaranteed to get cancer from smoking?
Is it automatic? No. Is it a problem? Uh, yeah.
And it isn't opinion so much as peer-reviewed science—each study below has a summary in ALT as well as links to their DOI. On the off chance your ignorance isn't by choice.

Cannabis seedlings don’t need or like nutrients early on. It will stunt or kill babies so I just use bio bizz all mix soil which I inoculate with mycorrhizal fungi and water in with a half dose of microbe tea. There’s enough NPK in the soil for 2-4 weeks when I’ll pot them on 💚

Another brilliant article:
How much light does a photosynthetic microbe need to live & divide? Just 0.04 ± 0.02 µmol photons m−2 s−1 !!!
This is comparable to "one-hundred-thousandth of the light of a sunny day." These algae live in the Arctic ocean, beneath the ice pack.

When we got the pitch for this story, I hadn't even *heard* of Serratia marcescens. But then I learned that it's:
1. First bacterium named after a person.
2. First microbe grown as a pure culture.
3. Used for >100 years to study how microbes spread through built environments...

it is a really extreme set of bad conditions for storing pasta. taking it to a picnic so probably unrefrigerated all day, then leftovers in a "fridge" at perfect microbe-nurturing temperature for a further 2 days. you couldn't encourage microbial growth more effectively if you had a laboratory

2/ The fly brain does not treat all odors equally... rather it plays favorites. 😲
Think of it as a sensory homunculus... but for smell:
🍇🍎 Fruit odors get the hand — prime neuron real estate.
🦠👾 Toxic microbe odors get the foot — pushed to the corner.
Not all smells get an equal vote...

Guys, really really really really start wearing masks again. With an information blackout, by the time we find out it’s jumped to human to human contact, it may be too late.
The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.
Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.
