Metacriticism at its most deliciously ironic.

david, out of curiosity: have you read any recent work in the field that cites gibbon? i cannot think of anything i’ve read that’s not metacriticism of fall and decline.

Tomorrow I’m giving two super fun papers at #AARSBL. One is in a panel of senior-like scholars who happen to look really young reviewing their own first book, in my case _Resurrecting Parts_, in the Metacriticism section.

right, the metacriticism is way more interesting. And add the absurdity of the "New Testament After Supersessionism" commentary series, and the proponents of Dual-Covenant Theology - from Hagee and the Christian Zionists to those in the NPP. The Evangelical-Zionist connection is strong throughout.

Love the concept of this panel from Metacriticism of Biblical Scholarship going on right now in HB Sapphire 410a: senior scholars reviewing their own first book. #SBLAAR24

Caught between #MetaCriticism and #DEIControversy, I’m exploring how art can expose #powerabuse, #AIwarfare, and our urgent need for true #inclusivity. My blog post uncovers how drones and digital propaganda threaten democracy—while art becomes resistance. More: www.krautart.de/ai-warfare-e...

Meta-criticism isn’t just about reviewing the review it’s about questioning how we analyze art, literature and media. Who critiques the critics? #DeepThoughts #MetaCriticism

oh yeah, absolutely. there’s great metacriticism on gibbon & his work, too! that’s a good distinction to make.

this is a fair critique but most of Jude's metacriticism elides the substantive critique of pablo-matic *as art* and Gadsby *as art critic* by deflecting to a defense of their loathing of Picasso, the human misogynist, who nobody is actually defending, and theorizing that the substance is pretext.

I leave a week from today to join 10,000 scholars of religion in San Diego. Have a panel that you're looking forward to?I'm looking forward to the joint Metacriticism of Biblical Scholarship / Book History and Biblical Literatures panel "The Vulnerable Bible," on three books:

today in demonology: more de certeau, but now with metacriticism!

specifically: why does de certeau leave nothing to describe the execution of urbain grandier except for the receipt for wood used for the pyre?

when i say this book is good, y’all.

It would be cool to get a collection of a bunch of critics doing metacriticism, talking about what piece of criticism they felt recently changed the way they thought and how

My approach to metacriticism has been profitably taken up by Prof James Crossley, in his demonstration of the manner that theologian Jacob Phillips should be treated as a tool - for academic analysis of capitalism, class and the Bible.

‘Was Musk's pro-AfD article written by AI? Tagesspiegel research suggests that Musk may not have written the controversial post himself. And neither could any of his people. Instead, it was an artificial intelligence (AI): the Grok language model, which Musk developed himself with his company xAI.’

He got into a lot of metacriticism of Democratic messaging instead of actually saying what he'd do. There are a lot of politicians out there who just want to be pundits.

I thought about proposing a metacriticism paper about how critical engagement with, e.g., Hobby Lobby/MotB can legitimize or downplay how academia has benefited from colonialism and imperialism. And these things facilitate proper provenance or do philology, but then I decided against it
