That's quite the malaphor....
My new hobby at work is sliding the occasional subtle malaphor into an email. Like today I wrote “but we can burn that bridge when we get to it.” Anyone who notices it will be forced to choose between thinking “is this a bit?” or “is this guy a fucking idiot?” or “am *I* the fucking idiot?”

Aha! The word I have been trying to think of for about a week is: Malaphor.
For those who don't know it's when you combine idioms (often unsuccessfully)
Eg - You can lead a horse to water but you can't look it in the mouth; or We'll burn that bridge when we come to it.
