A lot of dessert items have the highest cal for the lowest cost. Which is really sad but like... An oatmeal creme pie has fat and carbs (macronutrients!) and fiber!
Those are the opposite of fun facts but like, it's really not a problem if poor people eat them! It's actually a pretty good choice!

Vegan restaurants are all premium, and cooking your own cuisine that's filling, palatable, and balanced in macronutrients without at least some eggs and dairy is a full time job.

Anecdotally, exercising *does* make me lose weight. Because it makes me crave different macronutrients which tends to mean moderately healthier snacks for dumb processed food availability reasons. The actual calories burned are negligible.

Overnight intake and delayed eating timing are prevalent among US adults, especially among socioeconomically disadvantaged groups, and were associated with higher mortality, particularly for specific macronutrients/foods, supporting eating timing recommendations integrating food composition.

so i refuse to drink my macronutrients and that has apparently worked out for me but hey, uh, does anyone wanna look into this for creatine and collagen powders, asking for a friend
my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements
we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

I think the main reason for this is that protein is the only one of the three macronutrients that has never had a diet centered on avoiding it. Carbs and fat have had decades of bad PR in different ways, so protein is the only one you can slap on a label as a feature or health benefit.

There's no such thing as a "bad" macronutrient. Your body needs carbs, fats, and protein to live. Your era's capitalistic corporations really love demonizing macronutrients to take your money from you. Ignore the nonsense and eat what works for you and your health needs. 🖤💙😷🥄

Fruits, vegetables, and grains are foods that contain essential macronutrients, they aren’t macronutrients themselves. So saying they ‘aren’t macronutrients required for life’ shows a bad misunderstanding of basic nutrition science.

Despite these macronutrients being essential in large quantities for energy and our bodily systems, there are forms that do the opposite. I found this interesting because it shed more light on this, especially with how it affects our sleep. Tryptophan-rich foods are a good addition to evening meals.
#Ultra-processed foods with added #sugars, refined carbohydrates and saturated fat reduce how much time you spend in deep sleep, while sleep-friendly unprocessed foods rich in #tryptophan, unsaturated fats, and #fiber-rich carbohydrates, enhance sleep quality. www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/202...
Your diet could be disrupting your sleep. Here’s what to eat instead.
Studies show that when people eat foods rich in fiber, tryptophan and unsaturated fats, they sleep better at night.

Here’s some thoughts.
Again, this isn’t about one’s own thinking, in a closed loop with oneself (you’re free to think entirely what you wish about your own diet and choices)
but it’s about how vegan advocates interface with people who aren’t yet vegan
and how they often do it quite ineffectively

Start with **macronutrients**—carbs are essential, making up 45-65% of our daily calories. They fuel our workouts! Aim for 1.2-1.7 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight to aid muscle repair and growth, especially after strength training. Don’t overlook fats, which should comprise 20-35% of y
