Big mistake in thinking that they won by sheer volume of some destined conservative cultural force and not the fact that Americans got nostalgia for pre COVID prices and paired with a lack of foresight and brainwashing since birth just paired that with Trump instead of knowing macroeconomics.

The former Dir. of National Economic Policy is saying on national TV that he did not know what reciprocity in macroeconomics meant.

He’s talking to Lumpy who has alienated almost every allied nation due to perversion of tariffs as a tool of personal revenge and self-enrichment.

Idiots circle jerk
KUDLOW: Your argument on reciprocity. I mean, I didn't understand it when I first came to work for you. It changed a lot of thinking

TRUMP: You were amazing, because you weren't a tariff guy because you haven't thought about it that much

Capitalist Macroeconomics is the art form of manipulating massive swaths of people into believing a philosophy of stratification wherein the masses create an ethical framework to justify enslaving themselves to provide very few people with a lavish lifestyle.

I'd hold on to them. I know nothing about macroEconomics but I would have thought if the US economy crashes the global economy might follow suit and currencies might follow meaning the penny will have more value.

Happy to be corrected.

I think "experience rating" seemed sensible when first proposed in the 1930s - but the empirical effects are bad, and everything we've learned about macroeconomics in the last century makes it look less sensible.
I mostly am interested in how governments add administrative burdens on citizens. This is a case where the government allows private actors to add burdens. It comes from a sensible idea: "experience ratings." But an incentive to discourage layoffs has become an incentive to contest payments.

Here's a decent estimate of total interest added to loans on a rolling annual basis compared to jobs growth. Classes of macroeconomics students will gasp at the macho stupidity of RBNZ during this period - they crushed mortgagors and businesses, and the resulting demand slump crushed jobs. [5/n]

There aren't many ideas you could transplant into the distant past easily and make use of them instantly, but one of them is arguably a limited form of Keynesian macroeconomics.

Just having a Macroeconomics 101 idea of how price levels and real output interact would've helped a lot on the margin.

So I’ve regressed to vibes (which I don’t like!) but that’s where repeated letdowns and betrayals (politically) have led me. It’s part of why Brexit was so incredible to me - forget the facts or policies or macroeconomics. If you can’t spot that Farage and Murdoch and Banks are evil, you’re mad.

Trump’s as “Christian”
as he is a “genius,”
or a “top law enforcement officer,”
or an authority on macroeconomics,
or an expert on international trade,
or a peacemaker,
or a humanitarian,
or a loyal American public servant,
etc., etc.
