Does make you wonder if MTG can read poll results too. A macaque in a coal mine if you will.

try looking at the most common types of macaque, the rhesus and the crab eating macaque
you can also rule out certain ones like the crested macaque which have a very distinct skull
maybe find out where it came from? places with macaques usually only have one very specific type

hopefully this helps

monkey fact!!

considering this is japanese art, it looks like this is a japanese macaque. they are also known as snow monkeys and are the same type of monkeys who live in the snowy mountains of japan and swim in hot springs!

In our dismissal of the rights of other sentient inhabitants of this earth with its accompanying gratuitous violence, we not only wage tyranny upon them, we also wage a war on innate empathy & compassion. We create the conditions for violent societies.

After much debate, I decided this was fine to share on my regular account. I am far too proud of it.

Some art for @aquaotter.bsky.social of her OC and Macaque

These two are always SO PRETTY together. I love drawing them.

Macaque was his BIGGEST inspiration and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how they channeled that divine fem/masc energy into this lego

A lion-tailed macaque gently holds an unripe jackfruit in a quiet moment in the canopy, captured beautifully by Rathika Ramasamy, which beautifully reminds us how deeply connected these creatures are to the forests they call home. 👏

Resharing again because I really want to know what this is.

From what I've found it looks like a small macaque. And while the teeth are a bit worn, making me think it's a young adult, it also doesn't have fangs. And I haven't found a macaque monkey without fangs in adult age.
I have a new pet! Some parts missing, sure, but isn't that true for all of us?

Jokes aside, my mum got this when she helped a friend clean out a room with old stuff, mouldy furniture, dust and cobwebs (in an old chicken coop, I think it was).

Now the question is... what animal is this from?

Most widely used non-human primate species for research & testing is the long-tailed #macaque. A sickening inhumane experiment in #China involved subjecting macaques to surgery to cut out an entire eye, incl eyelids, for cruel whole eye transplantation, which failed. tinyurl.com/3ythfynw

A dung beetle struggling to move what I believe (given what I had seen on the trail) is macaque monkey poop.

There was a macaque jailbreak at the facility in Poolesville, MD when I was in the area about 25 years ago and I came upon a male macaque in my path suddenly. Do NOT make eye contact if this ever happens to you. look down, be still and small and round-shouldered. He is the boss.

Herpes B is naturally endemic (and largely asymptomatic) among rhesus macaque populations.

But it can be fatal to humans, which is why they're considered a serious health hazard.

Because rhesus macaque brain development parallels human trajectories, these findings illuminate mechanisms of adolescent cognition and why connectivity disruptions may underlie psychiatric risk (9/10)
