Strange to find this Guillemot on Mablethorpe beach this afternoon. It appeared healthy & swam onto the sea & started diving. @lincsbirding.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social @andrewvaughan1961.bsky.social

Hoping Taylor Swift hasn't written a song about our failed romance in Mablethorpe last February. We didn't see eye-to-eye on the Vimto slushies and she dumped me during the 50p bingo.

Robert Mablethorpe was brilliant photographer and tried his best to shock people but always came across as a genius.

The SO Festival Team has regular away days to enable us to focus on specific areas of planning and strategy.

These usually take place in Lincoln, as it's easy for us all to access by public transport (always thinking about our Carbon Footprint!)

Now that I've packed, and the kids are here and apparently happy and excited, I can't fucking wait for Mablethorpe

Certainly won't be putting the able into Mablethorpe.

Enjoyable seawatch this morning with @owenbeaumont.bsky.social at Mablethorpe with 3 Little Auk, 3 Scaup, 9 Goldeneye. Great to also see a Snipe and Woodcock in with Dunlin flocks low over the sea heading north #UKBirding

But the *weather* 😱.

Choice is terrible isn't it?! 🤣😭

Mablethorpe (well maybe something on that bit of coast), Suffolk again, something inland - south Birminghamshire...

...

I'm going to be poring over maps for the next month 😁

That sounds lovely. A whole week. Which coast is it? I think Mablethorpe is the furthest south I’ve been as far as seaside goes.

Excited to see Mablethorpe in the FT. Slightly less excited that it’s about the nuclear waste storage fight (which has been grinding on for some time). I can however unreservedly recommend the bacon rolls at the Bucket and Spade Cafe https://www.ft.com/content/29961733-a72c-406c-8884-4091c0dfd828
