Boss asked me today what I was going to do w/my History Masters once I finished the program & I paused for a min & said...get another one?
Honestly have no idea. My greatest dream would be a research company that needs someone w/a MLIS (archives), MA (history), genealogy skillz and a love of candy.

I started with school libraries (MLIS/SLMS), and I wish I had known how very siloed public library work is. In schools, the librarian is kinda separate from other Ts, but public library tech svcs/outreach/bldg staff don’t interact much AT ALL. It limits opportunities to grow, IMO.

i have unironically kind of big personal news which is that i am re-enrolling in my mlis program for spring. i emailed the program advisor like "hey i'm really embarrassed but i want to register for classes how do i do that" and she was so niceys and helped and now i'm registered through summer :~)

I've been spending a lot more time on LinkedIn cuz I got rid of all my Zuck-infested sites. I've had success networking with other SJSU MLIS students and profs and librarians and stuff so it's more fun. But all my game dev friends are laid off. Not fun. And AI runs that fucking site. It's odd.

That's actually so wonderful to hear!! To be fair, I did an MLIS and I loved it, but I'm craving something more *scholarly*, like a research degree in the same area because I just can't get enough.

That’s pretty much why i went and did an MLIS during the pandemic. I’ve had quite a few hiccups on the way, but i guess that’s still kind of my goal. Good luck!!
