Dad visited today and brought with him my ol' PS2 for me.
Only PS2 I ever had and she still works 25 years later. Crazy to think how many long gaming sessions this console gave me back then with MGS2, MGS3, Medal of Honor, GTA, Final Fantasy etc and she STILL works.

the codecs between rose and raiden in mgs2 are so funny to me. he is the least believable character of all time to go on wong kar wai type wistful straight dates. he goes home every night covered in Bear Spit. no one will host him cuz it's all married men

That said I'm most proud of the fact that midway through the MGS2 streams I said "Why is Paul Eiding delivering his lines so robotically in this game? He was a lot more emotive in the first one, if this game was a new release I'd be half convinced they'd replaced him with AI"

mgs2 replay a decade later hit like crazy (especially with the added context of finally playing VR Missions!)
it's crazy how that game just goes down insanely smooth. genuinely one of the best to ever do it, and my favorite metal gear title by a country mile.
