The Snowed Inn was built around a network of natural thermal pools, high up among the Sundered Peaks. It is run by Chena Mývatn. Her small stature and quiet nature bely an iron spirit. She knows many secrets about her guests, but it is her ability to protect those secrets that ensures its prosperity

First ever trip that I entirely organised and edited in @darktable from SD card import thru culling, geotagging, tagging, #raw development to 8K / 4K export into my libraries.

It still feels slower and nerdier than #lightroom, and I have to read & watch a LOT […]

Swarmidge is based on the clouds of non-biting midges that emerge in massive clouds from the Icelandic lake Mývatn. Gnaterminus is inspired by FFXIV's Beasts of the Final Days and its body plan is meant to loosely evoke the structure of an insect's head, as well as a skull and a spine.

Goðafoss is found right along the Ring Road, making it an easy stop between Lake Mývatn and Akureyri. It's a beautiful waterfall you can view from both sides of the river. #Iceland #IcelandTrip #IcelandAdventure #Wanderlust #RingRoad #Waterfalls

Sunset at Mývatn.
The sky brushed itself in soft pink and purple.
The day took its last breath, quietly giving way to the coming light.
Moments like these remind me of the gentle things that stay with us.

Einarsstaðakirkja is a wooden church built in 1862. The white church with a red roof is not far from the Ring Road between Akureyri and Lake Mývatn. #Iceland #IcelandTrip #IcelandAdventure #Wanderlust #IcelandicChurches #Churches

I think they are referring to the waterfall style, but you're right. Sky Lagoon and Blue Lagoon do have waterfall features. Mývatn Nature Baths (now Earth Lagoon Mývatn) also has one (or at least did...haven't been there since 2020 and they've made some changes so not sure anymore).

Thanks for this thread

And yes, I enjoyed my time in Iceland earlier this year,
Particularly sampling all the pools in every little town / village.
Was the most relaxing part of my trip.
In Vik, Hof, Myvatn, Reykjavik, etc

And yes, i got used to the communal showers pretty quickly.
