A test assembly of my urban fantasy at LibreOffice default document size is over 600 pages. At 6x9 with default margins it's over 1k. 😵 This thing is a TOME

「LibreOffice Calc

LibreOffice - puno bolje funkcije i vrlo sličan Microsoft Officeu

Ili si skini legalno office i piratski aktiviraj

LibreOffice needs to implement LibreQuake, y'know, for office LAN parties

Also, LibreOffice has an *extensive* set of file import filters, which include WordPerfect, and can export to docx or odt quite efficiently.

Just to add to this, if you don't have the money period and want a free option and used to microsoft word, libreoffice is the open source variant that is 100% viable and pretty good, like I've been using libreoffice for two years now for college and haven't had a professor complain yet

06: Helpful writing tools

I write on LibreOffice. Don't really feel like dealing with microsoft's BS and there are some very sus clauses on drive's ToS, so here I am. Can't say I've seen any downsides in well over a year.

01: Introduction

Hello! I'm Ayrton, I write dark fantasy, and my main works are:

Bloodmaster series: A young woman wants to become a killer of monsters created by a curse.

Unfortunate: Scummy banker makes a pact with a chaotic god to save his own skin.

LibreOffice headache that I didn't notice with my novella MS but I've danged sure noticed now:

indenting body text indents ALL body text. Including scene splitters, because they're just HTML.

It looks like the solution to this is to wrap splitters in a tag that I can target in LO. Like an h3.

#FantasyIndiesNovember Day 6 Helpful writing tools

So, I use Libreoffice, and in the addon linguist which can count every word in a document and shows you how often you use it (I use it to fix over use of words)

And then I have a website www.spwickstrom.com/said/ for synonyms for said.

(Ignore my comment if you're not looking for app recs)

I personally really like LibreOffice Writer. It's free, open source, offline, and pretty similar to Word. It's probably not as feature-rich but it works for everything I need. It was also able to open up all my Word docs when I first switched

Day 6

I write in LibreOffice and Google Docs. What keeps me in line isn't a writing tool, it's my awesome critique partners and beta readers. A few of them have been editors, so they have my back when I mess up.

Libreoffice has so many "quirks" like this. Sorry 😩 I know the struggle.

Hm, my collection are not "assets"...

If this costs money, it has to be that much better than a free spreadsheet (libreoffice, Google sheets), and I think I'm currently satisfied by my spreadsheet....

Maybe I like spreadsheets too much! 😅
