Yes ... yes ... I know that 9/10ths of Starmer's problems are directly attributable to the 14 years of Conservative and Conservative/LibDem coalition government that eviscerated UK public services.
Why then won't he undo the mess he inherited in a very very visible way?

And if you compore numbers of votes, rather than MPs, Reform had more than LibDems.
The voting system is corrupt.
And where do you get your stats aboard how many times LibDem was on TV?

I think the rightwing vote is going to be split over Reform/Conservative/Labour.nThe leftwing over Green/Libdem/Labour. We may get a very mixed mess.
As for thinking we're doomed? Nah, keep voting for who you want to, get your friends and family voting as well, you may be pleasantly surprised.

I will vote Labour or LibDem whichever has the best chance of beating Farage .
Prior to Polanski becoming Leader of the Greens, I would also have been prepared to tactically vote Green .
However I will never vote for a party led by a dangerous populist & fool who wants to take us out of NATO

The Tories have given up on Tory voters, who are now mostly LibDem voters. Hence the Tories are now putting all their effort into trying to attract Reform voters.

Trump is incredibly unpopular here! including amongst Tory voters. What are they doing?
Conservative Shadow Culture Secretary Nigel Huddleston tells GB News that the BBC should "grovel" to Trump.
Amazing how many British 'patriots' are spending their time telling our national broadcaster to prostrate itself before a hostile foreign leader

Have a look at BBC Scotland. Apart from the National newspaper, every paper is viscerally opposed to SNP / Scottish Government and BBC always use their front pages to set their news agenda. Do Lab/Tory/ LibDem object? No - they feed their lines to the media and they are happy to cheerlead.

Excellent points made here the LibDem leader - plus some interesting responses. Worth a good look.
Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.
He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Are you, like most #libdems, a #libdem who likes leaving things to the last minute?
You've got just over an hour left to vote in the internal elections and the list of candidates is LOOOOOOONG.

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social Disappointed beyond belief that it's the LibDem Leader who has quite rightly condemned a foreign attack on our national broadcaster. Where is Starmer? Below the excellent article on why previous government meddling has harmed the BBC
Nearly two years ago, I wrote about the extraordinary influence of former Tory spin doctor Sir Robbie Gibb on the BBC. It's still a helpful backgrounder for what's going on now. New readers start here: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...
How the government captured the BBC
A right-wing cabal, largely unaccountable, is waging war on the principles that made our public broadcaster great. It must not succeed

It's certainly true here in Worcestershire, where Reform is planning to raise council tax by 10% AND slash local services.
No wonder people in my town voted a LibDem to replace the disgraced Reform councillor, in office just 5 months, but never attended a single meeting

2/2 As a basic principle do they believe in the concept of guaranteed hours? Not clear. How would LDs improve the gig economy? Not sure. What's the LibDem attitude to sectoral pay bargaining? Shrugs.

I know you’re right. I know it’s easy when you’re in opposition to have an opinion. I have lived and worked in public services through austerity. I reserve the right to agree with anybody’s current opinion regardless of their past. Never a LibDem voter.

Interesting, as someone who considered themselves a LibDem (not during Clegg's time) I am very leftwing.
Trust in the BBC is heavily tied to political identity
Tim Davie and Deborah Turness have resigned over complaints of institutional bias but external perspectives on the broadcaster are far from uniform.

I feel the same about student fees in the UK. Labour, LibDem and Conservative governments have said we could not have student grants/zero fees because the nation wouldn't tolerate the tax rise required. Yet the same nation tolerates the far more regressive £60k personal debts for young people.

If ppl vote for Greens in seats they can't win (95%+ of seats) they'll help Reform win by splitting the progressive vote. Greens best chance of maximizing seats is to vote tactically which means most will need to vote Labour & a big chunk Libdem. In seats they *can* win Lab/Libdems must vote Green.
