Today I accidentally turned Moma's brain into mush by reading medical journal articles out loud, trying to figure out what kind of scar Naveena had from her death. The main takeaway was that she has a hypertrophic scar. I may put this all into a research post later... #LWDB #writing #researching

Things we've changed in Ch1-2 from draft 2 to draft 3:

- start w/ Naveena's POV instead of Tylor's
- start just after she reaps a soul at the Royal Infirmary, instead of at the Uni of Edinburgh
- she senses Tylor using his powers and seeks him out rather than him running into her on accident

I posted when I finished my second research notebook. Here is a picture of my third! So far, each notebook aesthetic has fit a particular character's vibe really well, so I see it as moving from Naveena's notebook to Keita's notebook :)

We print our drafts when they were done so we can physically hold evidence of all our efforts :)

Tylor didn’t think she had been too dumb. It was all too easy to think it would never happen to you. Most of the people he’d talked to in his 28 years did not see it coming. Of course, they had almost all been case files.

Okay we posted another short story for our Patrons! In this one, Naveena is struggling after a difficult reaping, and Tylor takes it upon himself to try and help. An unexpectedly sweet breakfast follows.

The running babble-slash-commentary was deeply amusing, and Tylor was having trouble keeping a straight face.  “Ah yes, brewed ginger hair. Common cure for fairy curses,” he told her, barely holding on to his calm.   “Is it?” she asked, turning to him with wide eyes full of innocent trust. Tylor could not help but laugh.  It was a quiet wheeze, shoulders shaking.  “No, mo chuisle,” he said, the endearment pouring out of his mouth before he had even thought about it.  “It isn’t.”
