#LCWIP
IMO Hertfordshire's rating (still a 2) is generous. They've built a dutch-style roundabout (on a random industrial estate in Hemel) but LCWIP plans are patchy. Too much shared use (due to parking), "can't" remove mid-road hatchings to make room for protected bike lanes as used by emerg vehicles.

How is Cheshire East doing on delivering the walking part of its 2021 LCWIP in Congleton, Wilmslow and Macclesfield? FoI submitted.

Encouraging to see my city has at last spent some cash on improving this cycle route (NCN1). VFM shown with...erm, a new sign for very tall people on cycles, or perhaps penny farthing riders. Maybe a taster of what long-awaited LCWIP will achieve

*Is* there a Stockport LCWIP?
November 10, 2025 at 6:23 PM
The Stockport LCWIP should inform the local plan. Just a reminder; not that I've put both of them side by side to check.

That could have delivered the City of Nottingham's entire 15 year Local Cycle Walking & Investment Programme (LCWIP) 16 times over...

Anyone claiming cycle infrastructure is unaffordable isn't being honest!

The LCWIP changes that but still the 1991 design guide is being applied to new developments so that road traffic is prioritised at newly-created crossings.

The redway system extends hardly at all into the legacy built environment where there remains almost no provision for cycling. ‘Retrofitting’ was identified as a key issue in the LCWIP, which identified almost 300 schemes for improvement. The vast majority are categorised as ‘missing links’.

Some other projects.

Mapping of bike thefts
Taking the local LCWIP and allowing mapping of the primary routes and offer suggestions.
An attempt to bring data to show the benefits of investing in AT travel projects.

Alot of talk about OSM.

I'm not sure, there's a requirement to refresh the Local Cycling and Walking Investment Plan (LCWIP), but as neither Grey Street, nor Queen Victoria Road were on the last one, and they haven't done anything at the actual junctions that were the highest priority that might be a box ticking exercise.

Coming soon. Cycle Stortford needs you (to participate in the East Herts LCWIP) on Saturday 4th October. More details to follow.

There's a great team trying to make this happen, AND there's an LCWIP consultation just closing.

Could use more stuff which shows cyclists EXIST (signs, cycles painted in the road, cycle stands).

I think it'll get there - look forward to coming back.
