A stop off along the Kancamangus Highway that runs from Lincoln,NH to Conway, NH/Saco, Maine. Peak leaf peeping ended weeks ago but there is still beauty and color.

For all the fools commenting on how the photos of #Boston #NoKings were not redolent in fiery orange maples and Kancamangus style foliage, here's a couple photos of the Common from yesterday.

Absolutely go, and definitely go along the Kancamangus Highway! That’s where I was: 34.5 miles of NOTHING but mountain (and a road and some bathrooms)

Much needed day off the grid. Drove the Kancamangus Highway thru White Mountain National Forest today.

30 bucks in gas
+ $95 to rent vehicle today for leaf peeping color along Kancamangus is peak this week.
I'm able to pack a lunch and camera.
Worth it?

Lower Falls on the Kancamangus. I did not realize that the FDR administration's WPA and its sister The CCC dug the Kanc and prepared the grounds at LF in 1938.
We need this kind of work and civilian engagement so badly now.

Bridge 49! The Albany covered bridge, which was the one we quit on in our NH covered bridge single day extravaganza because frankly I didn’t do the logistics good enough that first time 😞😞 beautiful, and leads to a covered bridge campgrounds. Off the Kancamangus!!

My favorite chill state, many coastal towns in Maine.
Stayed on Lake Sebago in May, took the Kancamangus Hwy in, beautiful too.
Love Boothbay Harbor, Acadia too. So many beautiful spots.

Kancamangus Highway is a fantastic ride/drive in that area. Have relatives in New England and visited a number of times. Beautiful part of the US.
