BEFORE THE WAR The rich fragrance of Summer’s history rustles through yellowed pages descended from treetops gilded by Autumn's light between sunrise, and sunset. At night, mist ascends to paint those peaceful mornings which announce the Snow Queen's imminent reign. "But not yet", the chthonic veils whisper. On the pasture afore the kitchen window, ears of deer flick, then the morning graze is being resumed. I barely can take my gaze off the mesmerising view to pursue my own breakfast. There never was a 'before the war'.
