JAXAのロゴの上にある赤い丸はJAXAの前身の一つであるNASDAのロゴ。一度は塗りつぶして消したものの、塗装が剝がれて再び姿を表したそう。

BepiColombo was launched on 20 October 2018, on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana. It's a joint ESA/JAXA mission to study Mercury, now on an eight-year journey with arrival in orbit expected in late 2026.

• Boothby, Starfleet Academy's gardener, appears several times in Voyager, a show set in the Delta Quadrant
• Inspires DS9's Red Squad ep
TNG, "The First Duty." Picard is on the grounds of Starfleet Academy, talking to the gardener, Boothby. In the background there is a distinctive wooden bridge. Star Trek: Lower Decks, "Old Friends, New Planets." Nova Squadron and Cadet Beckett Mariner are in the same location as the previous screencap. This scene takes place a few days later, as Nova Squadron plans to do the dangerous shit that later gets them into trouble. They are walking across the same wooden bridge from the previous still. Star Trek: Voyager, "In the Flesh." This scene also takes place on the grounds of Starfleet Academy... kinda. It's a giant alien holographic reconstruction of it in the Delta Quadrant because Species 8472 was planning an invasion of Starfleet by pretending to be Boothby. Or something like that. 昨日11/9の話で、とよた科学体験館講演会「上坂監督が語る月、火星、そしてその先へ」
上坂監督が手がけた大阪・関西万博のJAXAブースの映像にフォーカスしてのお話。
万博会場で超高精細かつ階調もとんでもないLEDスクリーンで上映されていた映像をプラネタリウムのドームで投影。こちらはこちらで大スクリーンならではの没入感がすごい。
メイキングの話がまず面白い。そんな細かいところまで手間をかけるのかという驚きと、会場からの質問にもかれこれの理由でこの描写にしたという回答に説得力があって、夢洲の西の端まで観に行った身にはご褒美みたいなひとときでした。

たぶん別会社の運転手さんから「右車線で走ったほうがいい」的なアドバイスだったんだと思う。こっちの運転手さんが「産総研で降りるお客様がいるから、そしたらー」とか話してたし、私はその産総研で降りて歩いたけど、頑なにキープレフトしてたバスがパッと右車線に変更したのを見たので、そんな想像をしてる。
JAXAのまえで交通整備してるもんね、それで誘導とかしてくれるんじゃないの、しらんけど。

Venus as seen by Japan's Akatsuki space probe on September 5, 2016. At the time this photo was taken, Akatsuki was located approximately 60,000 km above the Venusian cloud tops. This image was assembled using near-UV and near-IR photos to create a pseudo-true color view. My procedure for creating this image exaggerates the coloration and detail visible in the clouds, which show very little detail in the visible portion of the spectrum. This photo has been further enhanced by showing the cloud patterns on the night side using an infrared image at 2.26 μm. This portion of the image uses a relative colormap to highlight some of the variation present. At 2.26μm, Venus' clouds are partially transparent, allowing heat from the lower portions of the atmosphere to radiate into space.
