Might be me being slow, but I was reading An Unpromised Tomorrow, and there's this line:
"I proffered my hand in our customary manner, and G’raha Tia returned the gesture."
and I thought it was meant to be a customary gesture between the Ironwork that I missed. So to figure out what that was...

“Devonshire Road, Toxteth”
Pastel and acrylic on canvas mounted on board
61cm x 46cm
The terraced houses of Devonshire Road were built alongside Princes Park from the 1840’s. My picture highlights an elegant ironwork veranda on one of the houses.

This W&S overcoat also just has a ton of great details: lapped seams, adjustable Martingale belt, tons of shaping through ironwork, turnback cuffs, box pleat for movement, arrowhead tacks, and a folded vent that can be fastened with buttons. All this takes time and skilled labor.

At this price level, you get more bells and whistles: a half canvassed construction that creates more shape through the chest and shoulders, heavy ironwork (for more shaping), an adjustable Martingale belt, mailbox style pockets, turnback cuffs, and shanked horn buttons

St Michael's, Raddington, Somerset for #AdoorableThursday Medieval door (Pevsner: C15, listing: C15) in an arched doorframe of two massive oak baulks. The ironwork is original; Pevsner describes it as 'a firework of foliage' (steady on Mr P!) A beautiful, unspoilt church in a beautiful location.
