If you were outraged about the Mein Kampf post on IG on #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay, but you continue to use "Zionist" in a derogatory manner, especially towards Jews, your outrage is performative af.

Monday was #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay & a week after, ya know, feels heavy.

Yesterday (Jan 27) was the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz & The #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay. The Holocaust was one of the darkest chapters in human history when 6 million Jews and millions of others were killed. #WeRemember them & pass on their stories so we never forget.

80 years ago, the Red Army liberated Auschwitz. They took possession of thousands of so-called prisoner registration cards. With your help, we hope to digitize 27,000 of these documents in the days around #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay. arolsen-archives.org/en/news/ever...

Hend continued: "I grew up reading The Diary of Anne Frank, crying into my pillow for the horror the “civilized” world allowed to happen to a girl who was just like me. The horror never goes away."

Never again. That has to mean something more than a slogan used to feel good about condemning a distant genocide it costs nothing to condemn.

Today should be a reminder that we need to fight fascism in all its forms.

Today was #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay and the fact that the American right has been so gleefully co-opted by the very people whose defeat was the touchstone of patriotism in the 20th century is just so exceedingly grim. They're quite good at propaganda, as well.

My heart is heavy today. I fear we may not be able to change the hearts of minds of humanity to care for others.
But we can honor those who were selfless enough to fight for our existence. May we carry their bravery.

Today is #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay. These are some of the histories and memoirs that I have used in my historical fiction set in the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide, or in my essays about those cataclysms. What are the memoirs & histories YOU want us to read?

Remembering the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.

Read the stories of 3 survivors who were interned at Auschwitz, whose liberation happened 80 years ago today.

Never Again.

REMEMBER: #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay today, the 80th anniversary of the liberation at the #AuschwitzBirkenau Nazi death camps and gas chambers in WWII. Remember 6 million Jews and all who died at evil hands—words of hate, attacks, roundups, torture, death. #NeverAgain
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.
