Team tracks are lethal. Why no one thought to build a cycle lane alongside the new tram extensions is one of the biggest of many mysteries around cycle infrastructure in Birmingham. Also get well soon!

It is the same solar panels just a larger scale.
They key part of the infrastructure is on Inverters and storage. As long as the software on them is open source then there is nothing that can be done to shut them down.
Just needs firewalled for the net.

Sorry, but the best is the new Elizabeth line station at Whitechapel. Like the Tardis, it seems bigger on the inside (tiny exits to the street!) and its concourse appears to float above the legacy infrastructure. A great piece of design & engineering!

In many (esp red) states, the state govt pulled back hard during the Great Recession and never returned to the prior level of investment. A lot of state schools have high tuition and crap infrastructure. Renovations don’t happen; new buildings get donated by billionaire alums.

There are videos circulating of flooded pavements right outside the Blue Zone (where official government talks and negotiations happen) at COP30. Not uncommon for the region, but it shows the lack of infrastructure in Belém, even where they knew COP would be held.

Stock images used in DCC presentation planning PR campaigns to promote active travel and use of cycle lane (left), vs images of actual cycle infrastructure in the city. "Only 36% of respondents felt safe cycling in Dublin City". Hmmm.

I love that our libraries all have drop boxes. Making the infrastructure accessible, and still keeping mail in an option for those who can't seems like a tremendous win over the way other states force people to stand in line.
