Hannah vindt het raar dat ik beetje zenuwachtig ben 😅 maar ben ook benieuwd hoe het gaat met mijn oude bestanden… heb een aantal indesign bestanden alvast bewaard als IDML … jouw flyer moet ik ook niet vergeten, je weet maar nooit 😅

I would also really respect Affinity if they added IDML export to Publisher, but obviously they don't want people taking that IDML back to InDesign.
It's kind of wild that Adobe is actually more open in that respect than the new kid on the block.

I would also really respect Affinity if they added IDML export to Publisher, but obviously they don't want people taking that IDML back to InDesign.

Doing some layout for a very neat RPG (I don't know if I can say yet.) However, I'm not the first designer, and the others used different software and standards.
Kinda wanna do a video class on future proofing your game layout. (How to save as a packaged IDML for example.) Someone wanna fund it?

Affinityデスクトップ版は3種が1本化して無料になった。
Indesignをidmlで保存したものは普通に開けました。
文字詰めが崩れたり欧文はなぜか文字化けするけど、
整えれば使えそう。
どうして無料にできるのか謎ですが、次のzineはaffinityで作ってみる。

Ive had a few small issues, but nothing I haven’t been able to solve with a quick search. Generally very very similar so far. Biggest trick has been saving my indesign files to IDML so i can open them in the new software.

Thankfully I was just making a web graphic, it wasn't a project or anything.
Couldn't save, but could export to IDML and the IDML worked fine; also I was 99% finished so took a screenshot that would be good enough if necessary.

Scribus can open IDML and IDMS formats, if I recall correctly. Inkscape can import Adobe Illustrator files.

i found a corruption in an indesign document that if i replace the missing font, the file becomes un-save-able. and yet, if i make the edit, and export to idml and re-open, it saves it, but if i edit the text again, it breaks again. :|

Enjoying being out of the grip of moneygrabbing Ad*be for the (basic) design bits I have to do - using Affinity Publisher rather than InD*sign these days. (AP can open IDML files saves from InDesign quite successfully, so. Previous designs in Ad*be can be resurrected quite happily.)
