In a small clinical trial, brain injections of a virus that codes for a tiny segment of RNA may have prevented the formation of the rogue proteins that make Huntington’s so devastating.

I read about this on the BBC website. It lifted my broken science-loving heart for the people suffering from Huntingtons Disease and their dear ones. It also broke my heart again regarding the anti-critical thinking/learning/science journey the Trump regime & its supporters have us trekking.

I spent some time working in a residential home for about 20 Huntingtons patients. Each one had different symptoms and all had horrible stories of their diagnosis and decline. Plus the trauma of knowing that they may have passed the genes to their children.
So happy to hear about this.

We have been making such major medical breakthroughs. I can't overemphasize how much of a big deal it is that Huntingtons, AIDS, and so many others might become minor nuisances rather than life-altering horrors.

If we fund medical research and distribution. IF.

If you're like it's not a "miracle it's science" I'm just going to block you.

They've successfully for the first time treated people with Huntingtons. We have effective gene therapies for people with sickle cell. People with cystic fibrosis are suddenly confronted with getting to live a long life.
