🦇 Hot weather is coming next week and there are many small pups in roosts. Please be mindful of colonies on hot days - bats will be moving down under the canopy & will be stressed by heat. Please keep your distance & avoid any disturbance in the days that follow #GunaiKurnaiCountry

💧 Demand Real Rehab, Not River Theft. Toxic mines don’t deserve rivers. Plans to divert 2,800 billion litres of fresh Latrobe River water — more than 4 Sydney Harbours — to fill old coal pits are reckless, dangerous, and unjust. #GunaiKurnaiCountry👇🏽

This is a snapshot of an area in the Boola Boola State Forest on #gunaikurnaicountry that FFMV has on the list to burn in 2025. An area of damp, wet forest along a creek with abundant biodiversity. How is this even allowed?

Saturday's full moon was an ideal night to look for Greater Gliders in the Boola Boola State Forest with members of #KinglakeFriendsoftheForest. We spotted 4 gliders. 😀 These gliders and other arboreal creatures are at risk of #FFMVs planned burning regime. #gunaikurnaicountry

Wherever they go, they leave a trail of destruction. #FFMV recently lit up 80Ha of Providence Ponds Fauna & Flora Reserve. The road is Mouse Track - so named for nationally endangered #Pookila or #NewHollandMouse that lives here. This one of only 3 VIC locations where it remains #GunaiKurnaiCountry

Fire management planning is happening “behind closed doors” without independent oversight. We need to fundamentally change how fire is used and how bushfires are managed. Current practices are damaging biodiversity and habitat.

Glossy black cockatoos are listed as Critically Endangered in Victoria, where they are found only in East Gippsland. Fire in black sheoak forests of East Gippsland would destroy the birds’ food supply #FFMV #Glossyblackcockatoos #GunaiKurnaiCountry
