💌 Every email has a carbon cost. Long threads = more storage, more energy, more emissions.

At Pooka & Co, we keep it short—and sometimes, we don’t reply at all 😜.

It’s not rude. It’s responsible.

And a super-efficient yet helpful and pretty 404 page at only 1.52 KB with Brotli.

One discourse I'm currently missing in the space of #GreenWeb #SustainableWebDesign #GreenIT: How to organize sustainable alternatives for the current "everyone flies to one developer conference location" 🌱

Could we get to a place where content is routed from the greenest location rather than closest?

solarprotocol.net a good example of this as an experiment (have been fascinated by this for ages).

With some smarts, we can downscale or upscale the experience based on energy.

For example, adding animations adds proportionately significant energy use (a single loading spinner likely uses more power than loading an entire standard page)
