Lulu is so bad at UI - sellers can’t see how many copies each product has sold (have to download CSV & work it out), sales data is delayed (by maybe an hour or two?), there’s no dashboard overview, no graphs, etc etc

Excellent thread on the progress of the clean energy transition detailed in the IEA report (despite fossil fuel interests and Trump putting in spurious scenarios to confuse matters). Worth reading down to the bottom because there are some important graphs, particularly:
NEW: Global fossil fuel use will peak before 2030 – unless 'stated policies' are abandoned

Contra some terrible news coverage, IEA World Energy Outlook shows coal near peak, oil peaking by 2030 & gas by 2035 (see chart)

What's going on? 🧵 + cool charts

Some nice graphs on Chinese trade patterns from the ECB: "Weak domestic demand appears to be the missing link in explaining China’s strong exports to Europe – more so than tariff-related trade diversion."

👇 Conclusion:

☑️ In fashion, patterns matter, in profits too.
☑️ Single data points mislead; consistency tells the story.

Large percentages of Americans are functionally illiterate and innumerate, and can’t read graphs correctly, according to recent research. Few seem to have any understanding of statistical methods either.

I’ve never heard of this system, but frankly the initial idea sounds like undiagnosed dyslexia.

People falling for obviously misleading visualizations is upsetting enough, but I can't imagine the depravity of someone creating misleading graphs on purpose

We taught machines to talk like poets, but thinking is harder. With Knowledge Graphs, models learn to think more like scientists. Language gets a backbone, not just vibes. I like when pretty words meet solid facts.

Liz truss is just so funny on these graphs. It’s always a vertical line downwards that stops well before whatever data point is being used for comparison cause she didn’t last even to the first meaningful milestone
Looking at this graph and wonder if something else might be going on beyond 'poor quality leader'

Beyond Graphs: The Art of Data Storytelling
In today's data-rich environment, presenting data isn't enough. The most impactful visualisations go beyond showing the numbers — they craft narratives that resonate, persuade, and inspire action. In this webinar, you will discover how to transform your visualisations from simple reporting tools into powerful communication vehicles.   This session will take you beyond basic charting to explore the psychology of how people process and respond to data stories. You'll learn about the storytelling arc that turns insights into compelling narratives, discover advanced techniques for...

What a pointless graph when there are regional only parties in there.

You need separate graphs for England, Wales, Scotland and N Ireland otherwise its almost pointless.
