Well, yes and no. Yes you can achieve a certain baseline of "realistic graphics" with things you get out of the box in UE5, and you're right that tech is more accessible than ever - but the bar is also high for the kind of 'realism' that people at large find impressive + achieves that prestige

if your "protest movement" uses genai imagery, all you're telling me is you don't care if artists starve. it doesn't exactly inspire solidarity. make some graphics in mspaint. if it's ugly, well, at least you made it with your own human brain rather than asking lines of code to shit it out for you.

We finished Croc last night, not sure how to feel. On one hand I enjoyed the music, environment, and graphics but the controls were difficult to overcome. I'll be curious to see if the sequel is better! We also rolled some victory Katamari as well! Thanks to @8bitsofjoy.bsky.social for the raid 💗

I think the formerly split console market ("next gen" devices that prioritize graphics and online play) between Xbox and PS has tilted toward PS without more console gamers being added.
That and FTP games keep roping ppl in, and I still think console is the most straightforward way to play them.

That's not really how Nvidia works. They design chips, Taiwan Semiconductor manufactures them, and other partners manufacture and sell the cards. Their model makes them almost entirely an intellectual property play, a massive departure from old school graphics card companies.

I don't know who needs to hear this but plugging an old game into Unreal Engine so it has more realistic lighting/shades and smoother graphics does not make for a good remake.
In most cases, it takes away from the artstyle of the original.
