RIA Novosti reporting that some iPhone users in Russia are finding that they cannot access their all-important Gosuslugi accounts without an authorization code through the State-run messenger Max. They must install Max to access basic government services.

Max is a Russian govt-backed "super-app" developed by VK. It integrates messaging, social media, govt services (Gosuslugi), & financial payments into a single ecosystem. As of Sep 2025, the app is legally required to be pre-installed on all mobile devices sold in Russia. 2/12

A 26yo Tomsk man faces up to 7 years incarceration after gaining access to 80 Gosuslugi accounts by buying stolen PII online. He appears to have made only a little money by taking out small loans on some of the accounts.

You can now literally get into a bunch of legal trouble (even get a couple years in prison) for just not being aware that you even needed to act because you never check your gosuslugi and the email got filtered. And it's disgusting.

As for dc09.ru, i will keep it as long as possible, until those weird people in the government start requiring admins to put their private info to Gosuslugi or taking down domains because they're in bad mood and/or just can do so

Of all people, it is a Vladimir who offers me a job as a soldier with the Russian Ministry of Defence. This most probably comes via the Gosuslugi service portal. I am promised 17.5 million roubles (around $215,000) a year, loans, family benefits, accommodation and training.
