Godot quick tip. You can have custom icons for your nodes / global classes. Just add [GlobalClass, Icon("res://path.svg")] to your calss declaration.
For GDScript the syntax is @icon("res://path.svg") with class_name.

Hey #godottips, remember: if you have a texture with normal and specular maps for lighting and result is just dark gray even with a light, your light's height is probably too low for the maps' generated height. 🌠

For my PlanarReflector, I've been playing with Compositors to hide underwater/intersection reflections. This was an annoying limitation of PlanarReflections. TIL that if you put something into the ResourceName field in #godot editor it actually changes it to that text, that way you're not staring at the same "ClassName" text and having to guess what it is 🤯

While I was stress testing and playing around with procedural geometry in Godot, I found out you actually lose performance by calling floori() in gdscript.

And since discarding the decimal point is exactly what I want, I guess I'll just divide it normally then.

Some stuff that I've learned that makes coding so much easier

1. Use class_names when referencing nodes to let Godot autocorrect

2. When making a system, think of how it could expand

3. Custom resources are sick

4. autoloads...

#godottips discovery of the day: the focus style of a button is always an overlay, not a replacement. So you will see the normal state behind the focus texture if you use one. It will not replace it ! Always good to know 😀
