PSA: There are alternatives to Photoshop worth considering if you’re looking for a change? Krita can import PSDs and is free. Affinity is also recommended. GnuIMP too. They are ‘similar’ for the most part but the icons and shortcuts can be different and prove a challenge to your PS muscle memory.

I'm not really one for changes but I was doing a ton of art in GNUIMP because it had a tool that resembled a brand new fine tip sharpie complete with bleed. Now I use a normal g pen :)

There's actually a Linux "exclusive" art software called GNUimp, which I refuse to use because the other name for it is actually an ableist slur.
They've been called out for it and denied access to make social media accounts because of it.

That's easy! You'd just be doing it on scribus, GNUIMP, or Krita. All the tools you'd need like magic wand select, levels/curves, and multiple layer etc are available.
