Integrating Sanger and next‐generation sequencing data sheds light on phylogenetic relationships among gelechioid moths (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea)
The maximum-likelihood analysis of a phylogenomic dataset of 1767 protein-coding genes from 57 ingroup taxa yields a robust family-level topology for Gelechioidea, revealing novel among-family relat...

A recent visitor to the moth light in a coastal area 150km north of Perth.

This beautiful moth is one of the Curved Horn moths (Superfamily Gelechioidea), possibly Corynotricha trimeris or an undescribed species in that genus

I am by no means a Lepidoptera expert. However, they both belong to the Gelechioidea superfamily. Although it seems that super family is a bit of a mess.

Fossil discoveries from Bitterfeld amber record the superfamily Gelechioidea in this deposit for the first time, describing two new genera of moths and contributing to understanding of Lepidoptera evolution and biogeography.

#Lepidoptera are vital to terrestrial #ecosystems, yet we know so little about higher-level #phylogenetic relationships among the superfamilies.
Chen et al. aim to change that with a robust new framework for future study.
