GWR County Cab Update
Following community feedback, we have modified the tooling to remove the numberplate surround from the cab of our GWR 10xx Class 4-6-0.
At the same time, the plastic handrail with incorrect mounting points was corrected to be a metal component with the correct 90-degree bend.

3 months ago, Austin told me that he wanted a break from adventures. I didn't know why at the time but it turns out it was because someone had made fun of him for being into trains. This broke me tbh 💔 but after lots of deep chats, he's over it & going to ignore them. So... 1/2

There are many ways to pass the time on the train, but you just can't beat a game of GWR Top Trumps 😁 pretty sure he'd play this for hours if he had the chance!

I'm thrilled to say I've been called on to create poster art for a real steam railway! 😀

The Avon Valley Railway now has this on display at their main station. More details below - please read on!

(Any other heritage railways interested? Get in touch... 😉)

Oh, FFS...

Got the first of my birthday celebrations tomorrow with the Fam in Exeter. Gonna have to bus it all the way now.

And you want me to believe that I'm not cursed! 😁

Despite being based in Bristol - the hub of the Great Western Railway - the line was actually a branch of the Midland Railway, resulting in an interesting mix of GWR and LMS stock in both heritage and heyday.

OPEN C UPDATE
Take a look at these fully painted and decorated GWR O19 wagon samples straight from the factory. We are really pleased with how they look so far. Hopefully it will not be too long before they can grace your layout too!

#OnThisDay 33 years ago North Pole Eurostar depot was officially opened by Chair of British Rail Sir Bob Reid, 2 years before revenue services started. It closed just 13 years after that, but reopened in 2017 as a Hitachi Depot for GWR. Image: Colin Marsden buff.ly/8Sryq48

The engine failures mean that services booked for 9-coach trains are often run with just 5, with passengers being left on the platform at Oxford on occasion. A 9-coach train has 5 engines: GWR withdraws them from service if 3 of the 5 have failed.

I find travelling to Cornwall and back by GWR on a Sunday is most cost effective.

📹New Video 📹.

Not only is it Railway 200 but it is 175 years since Cardiff Central opened. Today this station is the link in the middle of the South Wales Metro. So my final look at the lines that made up the Metro looks at a tiny bit of the GWR.

The final look at the former railway comapnies that make up todays South Wales Metro. The small, but vital gap at Cardiff station.

A widespread engine fault on GWR’s fleet of intercity trains is causing overcrowding, late running and cancellations on London–Oxford services, and onwards into the Cotswolds. Fuel pumps are said to be “disintegrating”, leading to trains running slow with several engines out of service.

I quite like GWR trains but goodness me their WiFi is rubbish. It’s like they have one old modem from about 1998

Today was the annual Poppies to Paddington event; born out the pandemic as an idea from the Veterans Charity and held annually since.

800306 has had a special livery for a number of years, but this year has been totally repainted and had a fresh roll of honour decals added

If GWR adopted Bristol time it would do wonders for their record on delays.

#OnThisDay 102 years ago the GWR opened West and North Acton stations as they owned the line. West Acton was rebuilt after just 17 years, you'd be forgiven for thinking designed by Charles Holden, in fact it was the GWR's architect Brian Lewis. Sunil060902 buff.ly/F6rKOeY
