Tiago splitter looks like a GTA3 character
GTA3 is one of my greatest gaming memories. My roommate and I passed the controller back and forth, teasing out every ounce of content. It was thrilling and innovative.
GTA4 was fun and felt a bit more real. But less exciting.
GTA5 I got bored of and dropped.
I worry GTA6 will be much like 5.

i do think time pressure should be used in more games. this is why i’d never be a lead game designer because they’d fire me in minutes. what if it had the dead rising clock

I was won over with the freedom of GTA3 and ended up being the Rockstar critics for a couple of sites I freelanced for over the years. I feel like they've had a good evolution on the gameplay, though I will admit that it's often the weakest part of their games.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City officially released 23 years ago, October 29, 2002.
This is my personal favorite game in the franchise. It took everything that made GTA3 amazing and expanded on it, threw it all back to a Miami Vice style 80s, and had one of the BEST licensed soundtracks EVER.

I don't even LIKE Mario games, but I'd never claim most of them weren't revolutionary and massively influential. If one won't rank SMB1 and 64 on par with DOOM, GTA3, RE4, Street Fighter II, et al., I don't think one should be allowed to opine on games anymore.

D3 had way more critical scrutiny than the first two games.
Driver was a break-out success - but then Rockstar North rapidly closed the gap on Reflections with GTA3. D2 was still great, but GTA3 raised the bar massively.

Sometimes I think about how GTA3 has that radio commercial about "pets overnight dot com" which promises you "little bundles of love, in a box, directly to your door" and how that predicted the entire American economy almost 30 years later

I was literally only buying the system for GTA3 and MGS2 at that point I didn't care about anything else, they were enough.

my rambling has gotten so much worse on the podcasts this year lol, especially in terms of cutting off my own sentences with new thoughts. hopefully the boku recording is better lol I'm finally digging through this gta3 episode and it's driving me nuts

SH2 actually got the lowest score from them of the original trilogy, even though they were all reviewed positively. I think it got overshadowed in a bit because it was an insanely stacked month for releases/reviews (GTA3, Tony Hawk 3, SSX Tricky, Burnout, Civ 3 etc)

I was looking for another PS1 but didn't want to spend much because it's an extra unit - and I got this whole lot for $40 (CAD)
The fishing controller's worth about 30 alone!
