If you're a fish or marine telemetry person, this is a great time to follow a few of the network accounts, like @glatos-fish.bsky.social , @factnetwork.bsky.social @aquatictracking.bsky.social , and of course my personal favourite @oceantracking.bsky.social .

Let them know you're glad they're here!

ETN researchers study fish movement in lakes in several countries such as Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Poland. Across the pond in North America, our friends at the Great Lakes Acoustic Telemetry Observation System (GLATOS) also conduct lots of research!

RAEON members presenting at the @glatos-fish.bsky.social coordination meeting yesterday. Ongoing work on advancing fish telemetry using glider technology and buoy-based monitoring. Great to connect with our fish telemetry colleagues! @globservingsystem.bsky.social @innovasea.com

Would be fun to try. Altho we developed tags that can be activated, detected and decoded by sonar, the ⬇️ body size, ⬆️ predation pressure, and ⬆️ mortality of Alewife would make reliable detection challenging. But @glatos-fish.bsky.social have trkd Cisco, Mooneye, and Bloater. doi.org/10.1139/cjfa...
Integrating hydroacoustic and telemetric surveys to estimate fish abundance: a new approach to an old problem
Population abundance is a critical metric in fisheries and conservation, but it is very difficult to measure accurately. Existing estimation methods present significant challenges: mark–recapture meth...

I'm following this tutorial (jsta.github.io/glatos-spati...) with a shape file from the 2020 census and it's not working. I have a feeling it's my sf but I kind of need it haha...just trying to find other sources.

Hi all, I'm a fisheries biologist focused on recreational fisheries management on Lake Erie! I run trawl and gillnet surveys in the Western Basin and several Smallmouth Bass telemetry projects with @glatos-fish.bsky.social

You're doing great work pulling this list together! Appreciated! Some of the collaborative networks are on here too: @aquatictracking.bsky.social @factnetwork.bsky.social @glatos-fish.bsky.social

This acoustic receiver mooring was in #LakeStClair for one year. Unbelievable Zebra and Quagga mussel growth has covered nearly every square inch of the float and receiver.

Came up empty looking for an @glatos-fish.bsky.social receiver in the Flint River today. Receiver is there but buried deep in the sand! Water 45 F 🥶 with @bradu20.bsky.social

I'm glad we were able to get this work published. A huge part of this effort was Chris Vandergoot, the director of GLATOS, who passed away suddenly in Sept. I want to again acknowledge Chris's work on improving telemetry projects and how they are used in management across the Great Lakes & beyond.
