Once I finally did try designing myself a fursona, this was one of the first things I drew with it; chronicling my thoughts towards the end of 2020.

My fursona, appearing to be a reindeer with a floppy lock of hair coming down from my forehead, is laying on her stomach like I commonly do ever since I developed my sciatica. Text reads: "I used to think it was having a popular art page, but even now, I only get messages from a few people and it always stresses me out so THAT'S not what I was looking for. I can't find my work's value in how much money it's worth, cause now I have a good-paying job where my work is putting food on my table. Besides, I can't rely on capital gain for personal worth." Text reads: "I REFUSE to let capitalism determine my human worth." with a hmph as my fursona frowns at the idea. The thought continues: "but then what is it? Why am I so unable to see any value in my work? What would satisfy me?" my fursona turns over, frowning, and seems to think about it. text reads: "It's almost the end of 2020, and I'm still alive. I'm disabled, but I have a job. I'm living in an emotionally/spiritually toxic household and yet I'm days away from earning a Masters of Fine Arts in Illustration. I have a boss who values my work and me as a person. I'm loved by people who know the real me. I have to remember these things matter, even if my depression tells me I have no worth. It's hard. But I need to remember that." at the time I was, indeed, going through a lot. I was still living with my parents, (conservative republican christians who I hadn't Come Out to) and I was still finishing up my master's degree, and I was, at the time, only a year into developing a life-changing disability. I needed to shift my focus, and I knew that while I was writing out these thoughts.

The latest plot on Neopets has really tickled my nostalgia-bone by having Vira as a big bad. Despite being a troublemaker, she's one of my comfort characters--what can I say? I wanted to be a baby goth like her when I was a kid!

This is a somewhat sketchy, painterly-styled hand-drawn portrait of Vira, a mutated acara from the virtual pet website, Neopets. She's giving her best sinister grin to someone, at whom she's aiming her enchanted broken mirror. Her eyes are faded deep red, a color that's reflected in her nails and dark combat boots, and she wears a gothic, billowing mini-dress with long, flowing sleeves. Her body language is languid and open, yet precisely aimed at her target.

This is hand-drawn art of a design combining Rarity from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with the Tree of Harmony. Their name is Fate Weaver and their design integrates Rarity's voluptuous hair with the tree's branching, jagged design. Her horn, most notably, has the appearance of a crystalline branch, with a star on her forehead like the center of the tree. She seems to be sewing together the events of the show, as the weaver of fate itself. This is a hand-drawn design combining Spike the Dragon from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with the Tree of Harmony. The moon and sun at the base of the tree have migrated to the dragon's forehead and chest, while its eyes have the star in the center of the tree behind its pupils. The elements of harmony are nested in the crests crowning the dragon, and the pearls that dangle from the Tree of Harmony have become dangling strings of pearls hanging from the dragon's wings. They stand looking polite and majestic.

I used to feel nervous about reposting or quote reposting people's work on bluesky, but I want to move past that!

If I can get more eyeballs on people's amazing artwork and gush over the artwork I enjoy, I think that'll create more joy, not take it away.

The new maraquan Flotsam design finally got me pressed enough, that I'm sketching up some redesigns I wish I could see for some of the maraquan neopets--cause trust, flotsam is soooo not the only one I'm "bleh" about.

Her outfit echoes the pokemon beautifly, with a high-collared grey-and-white color blocked bodice that has a sweetheart neckline, mimicking beautifly's facial markings. Her underbust is slightly exposed, with an inverted dewdrop cutaway that gives the look a playful, flirty vibe. The bodice opens up to a grey flare miniskirt with yellow patterns that mimic beautifly's wings.
