#Freecad
56億7000万年ぶりにFreeCAD使ってモータースタンド描いたけど、FreeCADの使い方普通に忘れてて超苦戦した。こんなに使いづらかったっけ? いや、そうだね、こんなに使いづらかったね…。

I had some frustration with Fusion earlier this year that I overcame, but at that time I was looking at alternatives and FreeCAD was the only one that came close. The UI is still not very polished and sometimes trying to just pan/zoom to where you are working was difficult, regardless of "mode".

I think a fan grille was one of my first projects. If you're just making shapes, Claude can do some really neat stuff that you can open natively in OpenSCAD. It's can do stuff kind of quickly now because I've been a Fusion user for 10 years. Lots of videos out there. FreeCAD looks good though!

Trying to get my feet wet with printing. Figured I'd start with Freecad and try to make a replacement fan grille.

In my #hamradio #pota adventure today, I got my inverted-V linked dipole caught in twigs today and it died. The silicon wire winds easily around a tight radius, which is nice for putting it on the winder, but also winds around twigs easily, and that […]

Using something like FreeCAD, making a thin board with button sized holes would take 10 minutes. Draw out a square using the sketching tool, then sketch circles on that, then choose the pad command to give it a little thickness, export as 3mf file, put in the slicer software, send to printer.

This is why the *only* thing on my Win10 boot is SolidWorks, and that's going as soon as I'm as competent with FreeCAD.

Games? Lutris
Nah but Linux (especially Ubuntu) is way easier to use than what people make out. Like not often you need the command line and when you do just type in the command and it's like "that's not installed, use sudo apt install xxxx" so it basically talks you through the process

8 days late, but my contribution to #freecadfriday is a custom face plate for a coworker that is restoring an early 70’s Plymouth Duster. It had an AM radio with a bezel that was held on via the posts for the knobs. He removed the radio and doesn’t plan on […]

Nice work, another way to make these would be with a parametric cad program. Literally measure the piece and sketch it using FreeCAD or if you're a blender user already, trythe CADSketcher add on.

The #freecad model is not new, but I have another friend that plays darts and wanted some dart holders. The one in the middle was an accident 😅 #freecadfriday

My humble contribution to #freecadfriday: A wall mount for a Ubiqiti USW-Lite-16-PoE network switch. The one it came with I couldn't easily mount to my networking HSW, this one I can. Sits satisfyingly snug in there.

Haven't yet disconnected the one it's […]
