Marcel Duchamp began his career as a painter of conventional portraits and nudes. By 1912, however, he set out to prove the end of “retinal art”—pictures created to delight the eye—in order to “put painting once again at the service of the mind.” His answer was the “readymade,” an ordinary object transformed into a work of art by virtue of the artist selecting it. Taken out of context, repositioned, and signed by the artist, the readymade upended tradition and artistic convention by revolutionizing the way we think about what an artwork is, how it is produced, and the ways in which it is exhibited. In 1914 Duchamp purchased this mass-produced bottle rack at a department store. He felt free to acquire new versions for exhibitions and display after his sister accidentally discarded the “original.” He selected the present version for the 1959 exhibition Art and the Found Object in New York. Artist Robert Rauschenberg acquired Bottle Rack and asked Duchamp to sign it. He obliged, writing in French, “Impossible for me to recall the original phrase M.D. / Marcel Duchamp /1960.” Through prior gifts of Mary and Leigh Block, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice E. It’s a pretty chill game with soothing music where you find objects/letters in an art piece and each time you find the object/letter you colour in the part of the art you found it in, gradually colouring in the whole piece~ each stage is a snippet into a cute couple’s life and it’s pretty wholesome~

The concept art for this contest, all of the promotional imagery, artwork and even a large number of the 'products' for sale on thetoyrat.com, are AI generated. This isn't stated anywhere that I can find.
A clearly AI generated image of a bunch of cartoon mice, holding nightmarish, garbled clones of toys, such as "ASAITERS" in their unconvincing hands. The whole scene has the familiar yellow stain of current ChatGPT/AI imagery A clearly AI generated image of a cartoon mouse stood at a display of hallucinated products and merch. The implication is that they are at a convention, however their nametag states it is a "COMIC COB". As well as the garbled, nonsensical words and imagery on the products, the company (on whose website this resides) have left their own logo looking like a half-chewed lollipop, found in a urinal. Another clearly AI generated illustration featuring a cartoon mouse, watching various other versions of themselves on a series of screens and in an inconsistent style of hat. In some they are holding what could generously be described as 'toys'. In others, they have lost an ear. And in one, they are holding a cursed object which has somehow swapped their left and right hand Another clearly AI generated image, which shows a cartoon mouse character, holding every child's favorite toy, 'ULLPON'. From the 'PON' range. Behind him are an array other other figures, and I assume set up hot pipes, which are causing them to melt.

All the leaves on our ginkgo tree have fallen, carpeting our driveway in sunshine. Also, it took me ages before I could consistently type "ginkgo" correctly, so I am happy to have an excuse to use it today.

-"Cigarettes are good for you" could be a real cigarette advertisement from the 50ies. We're in Hell and we can clearly see a "Must Smoke" sign in the TV studio with Katie, so it's not so relevant probably, but still. - Cigarette machines like that are found in bars until the late 60ies, and the art-deco-like look confirm that date - Dark wood paneling, scalloped curtains, wall sconces, neon signage are pure mid-century aesthetic - The double door with portholes and rounded forniture narrow the period between 50ies/60ies - The fashion of the characters looks like it's a little earlier, with dress and hat models from the 20ies to the 40ies (but one can object that someone could remain attached to the fashion from when they were alive, we can see that even in the main cast)

I was no da Vinci, not after 3 years onna torch. I did make good progress as I brought a lot of artist experience, which accumulates. Also high physical coordination helps. My eyesight issues challenged @ times. Creativity becomes a highly valuable asset in glass art; huge. It’s fine art. #GlassArt
This was part of a line I designed called Distorted Ware. Concurrently, I worked very hard at crafting flawless containers, vases, cups, shot glasses, from tubing (which is highly difficult). So this was an art vision I had not an excuse to give up on conventional form n proper technique! I will also show, at some point, Shot glasses I made that have minor imperfections, but u probably wouldn’t know them until I pointed them out, which I will. Bcz that’s interesting stuff 2 read about n look at, not just the stuff that comes off well. For a while, I really got into making straws. It’s a good early form to work on because it’s not overly complicated sculptural work although you can push it into more difficult areas like this blood drip. This is a very sculptural piece that I’m proud of. It’s a chili pepper. Not the texture! That’s not accidental and it does require extra work. An extra materials, an extra technique. Just for that rough bumpy quality. But look how much it adds in fuel. Look at all the wrinkles and the crinkles and the pepper. Those all have to be carved. Like with a butter knife or some small metal object like that. There’s a lot of work in this piece and I’m very proud of it. You will also get what I mean when, maybe tomorrow or the next day, I will post close of detail shots of the harder parts to pull off on a piece like this. The sea, where the stem attaches. Those require a supremely, steady hand, a bit of experience, and just the right timing, just the right heat in your flame… And so on, you get me. If I sound proud of my ability here I am. At the same time, I will always reiterate, I hung out with some real masters of the glass form. I found my way there. When I hung out with glass artists, I hung out with the big hitters. I hung out with some people that could charge thousands for their pieces. So I am very humble about my abilities! At the same time I will be realistic and tell you. Creating a piece like this is gonna take you a good while. At least a year I would say for most people. I guess there’s no way to tell beyond that, maybe you would take you as long as I did more like two years. Anyway, I’m very proud of this pepper. I gave it away as a gift to my father. This is my ecstatic tongue, pendant line. That’s an original design of mine. It bars on a few iconic media events and entities. And at the same time, it melts those in new ways, through my eyes, resulting in a entity, which I think is new, to my mind. Anyway, a string goes through the top loop, which is on the left of each pendant and it’s worn around the neck and so there’s a little “ecstatic tongue“ largely modeled after certain 70s aesthetics, combined with a few other artistic influences. It’s a very exuberant and Almost deviant tongue, just its form. Unsettling? Or inexorably inviting? I leave that to you, also know the texture on the tongue. Like the human tongue, I wanted to present a slightly rough texture, reflecting taste buds. So I used material called the FRIT Which you sprinkle on at a certain stage, and you melt it only partially so it retains the crumbly matte, large sand particle like quality which allows you to make sand or degraded bone surfaces or rusted panels… There’s many many practical applications. I like my work to be very visceral and evocative of touch n emotionality.
