This is the first fossil-organism species to be described based on remains found within a fossilized regurgitate.

In 2024, Toronto based banks were responsible for investing $200 billion into fossil fuels.

So, this idiocy is a Canadian group effort of selfish sh/t-heads.

As #COP30 kicks off today, President Lula's words from last Friday hang in the air:

"Earth can no longer sustain the development model based on the intensive use of fossil fuels that has prevailed over the past 200 years."

COP30🇧🇷 is here. Your yearly reminder that

- COPs are not single shots; each is part of a process.
- yes there’ll be winners and losers and yes there are more losers when we host them in a unanimity based body dominated by fossil fuels.
- I’d rather have world in which COPs force us to talk climate.

It's 2025 & prominent environmental thinkers are still talking as though fossil fuels are the only problem & humans are the only victims.

The catastrophic impacts of animal agriculture don't get a mention. Nor do the obvious solutions of plant-based agriculture & the resulting land use change.
What a brilliant launch evening for The Growth Story of the 21st Century by Professor Lord Nicholas Stern! 🎆

There's a "permitting reform" argument that goes, "Dems should accept Repubs' fossil fuel deregulation in exchange for clean energy deregulation because in a deregulated world, clean energy wins based on economics."

What do you think about that argument?

Evolutionary explanations of hominin evolution depend on a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the hominin fossil record that can only be achieved by integrating primary fossil data.

It is also - IMO - harder to solve than climate change. Not because it is harder in theory, but because it is fundamentally about NOT doing stuff, not consuming, not extracting, whereas one can more easily conceive a solution for climate change based on replacing use of fossil fuels.
