#Flexitarian
I've adapted a pescatarion flexitarian diet, lots of the mediterranean tone too, I worry about eating too much fish, given the plight they face, so aim for canned, herring, sardines, avoid red meat, when not on food banks (then I'm screwed). I love chicken wings too much, I feel guilty eating them!

It is indeed huge. Even ginormous, but it went flexitarian (mostly vegan) years ago, is remarkably gentle with human children and is a huge help every year inflating the balloons for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. The loss of the #Exododus would be deeply tragic.

The veganism one was quite moving and nudged me further down the flexitarian path. Confronts the inconvenient truth head-on but with heart.

if you are eating a varied diet, you probably get enough B12

it’s mainly found in meat/poultry/fish/eggs/cheese, so if you are vegetarian or flexitarian, you may want to consider a nutritional supplement

it’s also in a lot of sea vegetables like nori and fermented soybean products

My girlfriend's a flexitarian.

I mean, she doesn't eat meat or fish but she can get her legs behind her ears... that counts, right?

The Romans used to eat meat as a sort of relish alongside greens and grains: OH and I are pretty much the same now, "flexitarian", partly for environment and animal cruelty motivations but also for digestive reasons, simply unable to digest as much meat. Feel far better for it too, for many reasons.
I like meat, but it's simply too cheap. This causes lots of suffering, industrial farming on grand scale etc. And poor quality too..

Meat should be expensive. You could eat one steak on Sunday like people used to.

You don't need to have "mechanically reformed ham" on every sandwich.
If you're angry about the price of meat
Consider
Not buying meat

Seriously just try it.

Protein intake is one of the things I struggle with. Any tips for a flexitarian? Can I just have more than one protein shake a day? Do EAAs help? I prefer the taste.

You don't have to go vegetarian, you can be a flexitarian. I Eat fish and a few meats but most of my diet is vegetarian. I think the last meal I had with meat was when my neighbour fed me a plate of spaghetti which was close to a week ago. The only 'processed' product I use is TVP.

Here’s some thoughts.

Again, this isn’t about one’s own thinking, in a closed loop with oneself (you’re free to think entirely what you wish about your own diet and choices)

but it’s about how vegan advocates interface with people who aren’t yet vegan

and how they often do it quite ineffectively

I personally don't, but I know people who are 'flexitarian'; point being, even if you have a cheat meal once a week you're still doing better than someone who eats meat 5x/wk

I was going to suggest turkey as an alternative, but apparently turkeys are getting hit harder than chickens.

I'm flexitarian, and the majority of my protein comes from dairy in any given week. I also drink high-protein Slim-Fast as my bedtime snack, mixed with milk instead of water.

Worm brain won't have enough beef tallow for his next photo op with french fries. I'm happily "flexitarian", rarely eat beef or pork. Eat more fiber, your guts will thank you!
Ground beef hit a record $5.80 per pound in April, up nearly 50% from five years ago. And the USDA says prices will keep climbing throughout 2025.

Not great

Great study thanks for sharing. The tested Flexitarian diet isn't optimized for sustainability but for nutrition and regional preferences. So it doesn't appear to attempt to calculate max sustainable meat production possible.
