His stupidity existed before all that, when he was just a young fringe eurosceptic. His usefulness to others is what brings him money and attention. So no, having actual knowledge means that I don’t believe a conspiracy theory. Most of these people are innately vain, foolish, stupid, and bigoted.

This isn't novel; it was always the eurosceptic right's argument - 'we the enlightened can see the EU will eventually blow up & release (Far Right) demons. Same true with mass immigration. Our mission is to head off this outcome.'

Leaving the Tories as a minority government would have brought forward the Brexit Referendum, because the Tories would have been under pressure to deliver something popular, and Eurosceptic Labour MPs would have voted with them. As would the Greens, who were Anti-EU at the time.
