Like, if your concrete analysis is "um, stocks seem overvalued" (with which I agree!), then why have you forced so many graduate students to work through all those Euler equations?

And then "Scaling the triangle doesn't change the ratio, so let's pretend the hypotenuse is always 1."

Followed by, "And you're not gonna believe this, but Euler proved...and 1 to the anything is still 1, so exponentiation just swings you around the circle..."

That would have improved 11th grade.

As a physicist, I can sleep well. There are still lots of interesting simulations to be run and specific understandings to be gained. And we still love you Euler equation! ♥️

It's kinda like how it's more useful to configure rotation text-boxes as euler-angles/degrees than quaternions. Picking units that are relevant to the problem-space, rather than the solution-space.

Each wheel is an actor that simulates the suspension force and does the collision checks. The spring forces are applied to the main body which converts everything back to standard forces and euler rotations.

Working on UI/UX & gestures on an atom bomb format in #mr.. yesterday battled with quaternions & euler angles to rotate the scrapbook panels correctly around the camera every time you pull it up. #xr #vr #immersivestorytelling

Anyone who can figure out how to cram phi in there gets about 1.6 internet points.

Chapter Two introduces the geographical regions of Switzenstein and San Italican but focuses on the ideas of Leonhard Euler in classifying orientable two-dimensional surfaces. The reader is invited to grab a sharpie and get involved (always seek parental permission before drawing on the furniture).
Chapter One contains the first of five great mathematical jokes and the overarching structure of modeling curiosity, inspiring curiosity, expecting curiosity (I elide the introduction and its comparison of Toynbee and Rudge mostly because I like to elide things).
Just over a week until publication of my new book on the joys and power of curiosity - the perfect gift for someone interested in maths or politics or archaeology or physics or art or poetry - also ideal for anyone not yet interested in those things who should be.

Město se zapsalo do dějin filosofie svým významným rodákem jménem Immanuel Kant, který koncem 18. století výrazně posunul moderní filosofii. O pár desítek let dříve matematik Leonhard Euler na příkladu sedmi královeckých mostů založil teorii grafů.

Fault motion was by ground-based surveyors but they never conceptualized it beyond a regional scale and understood it in the context of geosynclines.

Plate motion comes from the observation of magnetic striping at spreading centers and the idea of rigid body motion on a sphere with Euler poles:
TS Must-Read – Mckenzie and Parker (1967) The North Pacific: an example of tectonics on a sphere
The paper describes how large, rigid, aseismic regions can be defined with Euler’s theorem, which describes the geometry of motion on a sphere, i.e. the Earth’s surface. Points on these large and rigi...

I mostly use a helper-struct that's a horizon-rotation + local-euler-angle pair so I don't have to think about it too much and can still mostly script with pitch + yaw.

(Have to use a quaternion, and not just a horizon-normal due to holonomy.) #ugh #math

Answer: its the path that solves the Euler-Lagrange eqns, equivalently the Hamiltonian eqns: minimize either the length (square root of sum of squares) or the energy (just the sum of squares -- length is the square root of "energy") That shortest path is the classical path.
