Over 800,000 people are forced to work daily in U.S. prisons.
Most for pennies. Some for nothing.
Refuse? You’re punished—solitary, loss of parole, worse.
It’s not “rehab.”
It’s slavery.
And it’s legal.
Because the 13th Amendment allows it.

#Juneteenth celebrates the "end" of slavery, but slavery is still legal in this country. Every day, incarcerated prisoners are forced to work jobs for slave wages all across the US. Its past time to #EndTheException to the 13th amendment & abolish slavery in America for good. endtheexception.com

Slavery has always been wrong, and the time has come to eliminate the loophole in the Constitution allowing slavery as punishment for a crime.
