#EndNote
Edmund was such a pro that he finished work on his Edison galleys, down to the last endnote, and then died at his desk.

I'd have rathered that he was still alive—I loved him to bits—but if you're going to go...

This is exactly correct. Also *do not mix and match* footnote-digressions and endnote-citations. This is bad in paper, but at least if everything's a footnote you can see what it is at a glance. But in ebooks it is the *literal worst*. Distinguish, eg by footnotes having glyphs and endnotes numbers.
In a nearby galaxy the battle has resumed over the placement in books of citational notes—which of course go in the back; only adorable digressions are set as actual footnotes—and I am STAYING OUT OF IT.

Hard SAME. I'm the kind to check most endnotes, and when those turn out to be just citations, it's been more work holding my place, looking up the endnote, and then re-finding my place than it proved to be worth.

Jog, a true virtuoso of endnote use.

[2/2] ... *Obligatory Endnote: Yes, yes, not "everyone", just an alarmingly large fraction of those with political and financial power and those who continue to love 'em, and yes those are overwhelmingly men... well, not men but rather 12-year-old man-children. WTF?! 🙄

Got a notification that EndNote will soon be requiring you to change your password every 180 days….I’m confident this won’t cause any issues for researchers…. Right? 😅 #medlibs

And there’s the perfect endnote on the eve of Halloween!

Out of Susan Howe’s _Spontaneous Particulars: The Telepathy of Archives_ (Christine Burgin / New Directions, 2014), a tiny book with, curiously, a wrongly-placed, or -selected or -transcribed “penciled text fragment” of Emily Dickinson’s (see p. 57 and pertinent endnote):

Some free options for university finance teams to consider:

- Zotero > Endnote (superior performance too)
- Inkscape + NIH BioArt/bioicons > Illustrator + BioRender
- SerialCloner/ApE > SnapGene
- LibreOffice > Microsoft suite
- OpenAlex > Web of Science analytics

guy who says "footnote" to refer to an endnote because it's unthinkable that anyone would choose to use endnotes over the superior footnotes

A fellow mom tried to convince me that our high schoolers need AI in school to “do bibliographies” bc that is what her teenagers had sold her on. She could neither explain what exactly that entailed nor had she heard of zotero or endnote.🤷🏼‍♀️

Bei Endnote lässt sich das im Editor des jeweiligen Styles nach Bedarf zurechtbasteln.

My next fill for @huxloween.bsky.social and their prompt for Day 19: Abandoned Locations.

TW for thoughts of death.

Check the endnote for a little life update!

Reading the new Penguin Classic Horror Anthology where they've copy pasted a load of 19th Century short stories together with such little effort that they've left the explanatory endnote numbers in the text of one of the stories but haven't included the endnotes. Just numbers floating in a void.

This is revolting.

She actually IS astonishingly wise, and nobody here is interested in recommendations based off your fucking personal epiphanies gleaned from the white supremacy book club book of the week.

That makes sense. Thanks!

I'm probably going to convert my footnotes to endnotes, which is what I'm already doing for the braille edition. But I'm unsure how to signify the connection between text and footnote or endnote. Notes are combo of citation and extra discussion bits.

“Can you reference yourself so I don’t have to fuck around with EndNote?”

The answer will be no

You play by reading. For each page, you must pick one of its endnotes and follow its prompts. You might doodle in the margins to spite your estranged relative or write a relative’s obituary, which has been paperclipped in the margins.

Citations. Use an already available citation manager. Ive used endnote since 2002 and its never made up a reference. It keeps everyone organised and automatically creates a bibliography of the citation style I want. Yes we've had automated tools for citations since the 20th century
