All of the EMS crews are dispatched on calls, or transporting pts 100s of KM away to the nearest hospitals.
By the time EMS is able to respond the pt is in an extreme condition and no longer able to talk or respond.

Not knowing the patient's medical condition, but having worked EMS for over a decade, angry patients ate nothing new. Often, patients are upset and having the worst possibly day and may well be mentally altered due to their illness.
People who are generally very nice can be upset when sick.

Ridiculous OT bills are what happens when you don't staff adequately. EMS is a stressful job and the crews need to be able to go home and rest after their usual shift, not forced into waiting for hours in a hospital hallway or driving back to base.

Clarendon Tonight: They are starting early. Two calls already at Spider Kelly's. One for a "disorderly" person who was refusing to leave. More recently, a reported assault call for police and EMS. It apparently resolved itself without need for EMS or police. #Clarendon

Thank you to all who expressed their prayers & concern for the huge fire we had last night in Louisville w the UPS plane. Both my brother & my niece, who was working for EMS and dealing with her first real emergency, are fine. Things are under control thanks to Kentucky’s amazing first responders👍🤗
