I hope this will take account the particular demands of a station like #Ingatestone, which is rural/urban, on the outer reaches of Essex in London, just down from the #ElizabethLine eastern end. We do have some 600 school pupils using our station each term day; an unusual logistical arrangement

Why didn't #TfL insist that the platform heights of the Heathrow stations be reduced to 915 mm above rail rather than 1130 mm, as this means the #ElizabethLine can never have #levelboarding outside the core (and at Heathrow)?

It was an abysmal experience on the #ElizabethLine earlier but I’m glad that I’m already at home so I don’t have to rely on the approximate timing of the last train.
ELIZABETH LINE: Monday 8, Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 September, after 2200 each evening, a reduced service operates between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4 / Maidenhead. Two trains per hour serve Heathrow Terminal 4, West Drayton, Langley, Slough, Burnham and Maidenhead. Four trains per hour serve Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. Six trains an hour serve Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington. There will be no trains at Acton Main Line, West Ealing and Hanwell after approximately 2300. Between Ealing Broadway and Langley, some trains may depart from a different platform than usual. Please check the departure screens or speak with a member of staff to ensure you wait on the correct platform.

Speaking of #TfL - in a lot o coverage on the strike next week, folks are saying 'yeah but the #ElizabethLine and #Overground are running so it's ok'. The Overground (at least the #WindrushLine) is already heaving at the best of times. It's not a viable option for everyone to just pile on to.

The #ElizabethLine is definitely a success. #Hanwell is absolutely packed at rush hour but busy outside of that and at weekends. It’s about time for #TFL to stop terminating so many westbound trains at Paddington and give us (and Acton Main Line) a more frequent service.

Well, better late than never I guess! I finally managed a ride on the Elizabeth Line. Very impressive, and really does showcase what can be done. Some of the architectural aspects are mind blowing, a huge achievement. The trains aren’t too bad either!

You might notice that's not a member of train station staff at Reading deploying a ramp - that's Matt, using MY ramp key. It'd be bad enough if it was only ME who they forgot about, despite confirming to Langley when I got on that they'd be waiting for me with a ramp to get me off the train, but NO. THERE WERE FUCKING THREE OF US. Each boarded at a different station, every single station had radioed Reading to check they were ready to assist with a ramp to get their disabled passenger off on arrival. THREE FUCKING TIMES Reading replied that they were ready to assist. THREE. Did any member of staff turn up? Of course fucking not. If I hadn't had the foresight to go on ebay and track down a British Rail ramp unlocking key myself for situations where the station staff lose their own, or if Matt hadn't been with me, we would ALL have remained stuck on an empty, terminated train. We hit the alarm buttons next to the wheelchair spaces TWICE to call for help. Driver had fucked off. Driver ALSO knew when each of us was boarded - the platform staff signal them by hand on approach, holding the bright yellow ramp, and the driver returns the wave to acknowledge that they understand a(nother) "MIP" is being boarded and is on their train. The driver got off and fucked off when it terminated, without checking that we had been disembarked, so there was no one there to hear the alarm. Another passenger went to try to find a member of staff, so did Matt. They saw one, waved at him to come over, and he just turned and walked the other way. Only AFTER Matt had rescued us himselt did one saunter along, to do nothing but give us a surly attitude then fuck off again. Apparently no manager or duty manager anywhere either. I mean disabled people get forgotten ALL THE TIME, we honestly come to expect it, but THREE OF US???? Reading literally HAD to respond on the radio THREE separate times to say "yes, we acknowledge the train number they are arriving on, and we are ready to assist", so they lied to their colleagues three times as well. because the station we leave from will NOT put us on a train UNTIL the recieving station has confirmed they can get us off it again on arrival
